The 18th Annual Stars & Stripes Tournament will be held June 26 – 29 at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach Resort. This an all inclusive, three-day, fishing, golf and music festival that will raise funds for six deserving charities including: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Building Baja’s Future, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), The Gary Sinise Foundation, Miracles for Kids and Orangewood Children’s Foundation. Originally envisioned in 1996 when Dick Gebhard, then a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters Orange County, had an idea for an “itty bitty fishing tournament”.

This two-day tournament kicks off with daily sunrise launches of all boats from the beach at Chileno Bay. The waters off the tip of the Baja Peninsula have been kind to the Tournament, and in 2013, Stars and Stripes participants caught and released a tournament record of 299 marlin. These waters provide tuna, dorado and wahoo — who can have it filleted at the hotel and packaged for the flight home. Tournament champions bring home cash prizes and bronze fish sculptures crafted by Dale Evers. Other highlights include: Emcee Shawn Parr, a live musical performance by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band, golfing at two of Los Cabos’ finest courses, bungee jumping and ziplining at Wild Canyon along with a weekend packed with food, drinks, and entertainment. A limited number of all-inclusive packages (including airfare, hotel, activities, food and drinks) are still available, with a team of four individuals being offered for $12,000.
