Enjoy three full days of offshore fishing and relaxing as four couples travel to the luxurious Los Sueños Resort & Marina for a four-night stay, immersing yourselves in the natural beauty of Playa Herradura in Costa Rica.
Each day, four anglers embark on an exciting offshore fishing adventure, while the other four indulge in their choice of land-based activities. Whether it’s exploring the area’s natural wonders, shopping, lunching, lounging by the pool, or playing a round of golf, Los Sueños has something for everyone.

Guests arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and are transported to Los Sueños for check-in at Casa Selva Tica. Unwind by the private pool with cocktails and appetizers or tour the resort on your golf cart. A private dinner will be served.

Our instructors ensure you’re learning at an accelerated pace bite after bite; and with two instructors for four anglers, we’ll be right beside you, giving you pointers or just cheering you on.
After breakfast and check out, we will be transported to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) for return flights.
Costa Rica is known for its calm seas and abundant sea life, so it’s the perfect place to brush up on your fishing skills or catch your first-ever billfish. Nestled between Nicaragua and Panama, some of the best billfishing is found in the Pacific’s winter months. Two of our most experienced instructors will guide anglers through the nuances of circle-hook fishing or introduce fishing to those who’ve never done it before in a supportive and fun environment.
We’ll be fishing with Tommy Gifford Award winner Capt. Bubba Carter on his 43-foot Island Boatworks, Tijereta. With a friendly crew and the finest fishing equipment available, Carter is sure to put us on ‘em. Lunch, snacks, and drinks are served on board to keep you nourished and hydrated. Fishing days begin around 7 a.m. and end just in time for happy hour.

Tijereta
This rig is a 43-foot Island Boatworks fish-catching machine. She has conquered the waters of the Pacific, including Costa Rica, the Coco Islands, and Panama. A fixture at Los Sueños, anglers seek out this vessel and her captain to help conquer their angling aspirations. As fishermen, we expect high-energy fishing and a positive crew on all of our trips, and we’re sure Capt. Bubba Carter will deliver that and more.
Located in the Fairways Estates community of the Los Sueños Resort, Casa Selva Tica is a veritable dream of a house. With six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a private pool and jacuzzi, and plenty of relaxing spaces, indoors and out, this light and airy private home is perfect for our group. Contemporary finishes are found throughout its two levels and feature an open kitchen/living design, a washer and dryer, large floor-to-ceiling sliding retractable doors, and a beautiful patio and pool deck surrounded by nature. The master suite is on the ground floor of the main house; a glassed-in staircase leads to the second level with another living space and three more bedrooms, each with private baths. Another two bedrooms and a shared bath are detached from the main house for the instructors. Located just minutes by golf cart to the marina and resort center, this villa is peacefully surrounded by tropical trees and rainforest-covered mountains. Daily maid services are provided.
This expedition is priced as a fully curated package, with airport transfers, accommodations, light breakfasts, fishing licenses, three days of offshore fishing (lunch included), standard boat tips, three private in-home, multi-course dining experiences, and some wine/cocktails.
Airfare to and from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) is not included.
A 50-percent deposit must accompany each registration. The full payment must be paid 30 days in advance of your scheduled expedition.
Repeat clients, active-duty military, and veterans qualify for special discounts, please contact the director for more information.
Payments made toward your expedition are fully refundable for cancellations received, in writing, at least 91 days before the first day of the trip.
If you cancel for any reason 60 to 90 days before the start date, we will issue a refund, less 50% of your deposit per person.
Cancellations received 31 to 59 days in advance may have the amount received transferred to another trip in the same calendar year, or at the director’s discretion.
Cancellations received less than 30 days before the start date will be non-refundable.
Travel insurance or evacuation services are not included but are recommended to protect your investment.
