ITINERARY

Arrive in Loreto, Mexico, where a private driver will shuttle guests to San Carlos in Magdalena Bay. That evening includes a hosted dinner at a local restaurant and a chance to meet the crew before checking into a hotel for one night.

Shove off in the morning for the run to the fishing grounds. The transit takes a few hours and may include some of Mag Bay’s finest wildlife viewing, including the dramatic clash of top predators and the early arrival of migrating whales. Begin fishing around noon and stay on the grounds well into the evening.

Spend four full days fishing the legendary Mag Bay grounds. Focus on striped marlin action offshore, with flexibility to explore inshore and reef systems, depending on conditions and group preference. On Day 6, begin the return run to San Carlos in the afternoon.

After the final day of fishing, begin the return journey with a full slate of Baja memories and world-class catches. Shuttle transportation will be provided to Loreto for your flight.

FISHING OVERVIEW

Magdalena Bay has earned a reputation as one of the world’s premier striped marlin destinations, offering a style of fishing that is as visually exciting as it is productive. Located along the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, the region comes alive each fall and winter as vast schools of sardines gather along the coastline and offshore banks, attracting an extraordinary concentration of pelagic predators.

Unlike many billfishing destinations where anglers may spend hours searching for a handful of opportunities, Magdalena Bay often provides a front-row seat to nonstop action. Marlin can be found feeding aggressively around bait schools, tailing on the surface, or free-swimming in clear water, creating opportunities for sight-casting, live-bait fishing, and exciting visual hookups. Multiple fish raised, teased, and hooked in a single day are common during peak conditions.

While striped marlin are the primary attraction, the fishery frequently delivers a true mixed-bag experience. Yellowfin tuna, dorado, and wahoo are regularly encountered in the same productive zones, giving anglers the chance to target a variety of prized offshore species without leaving the area. The abundance of life also creates a spectacular natural setting, with working birds, sea lions, dolphins, and baitfish often providing clues to the action below.

THE FLEET

Guests will fish aboard Karma, a tournament-proven 54-foot Sculley sportfisher built to cover water, raise fish, and keep anglers comfortable during extended offshore campaigns. With exceptional range, premium accommodations, top-tier tackle, and an experienced professional crew, Karma is perfectly suited for the unique demands of Magdalena Bay. Whether chasing marlin around bait balls offshore or exploring productive inshore waters, the vessel delivers the performance and versatility needed to maximize every fishing opportunity.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Unlike traditional destination trips that require daily runs to and from port, guests live aboard Karma throughout the fishing portion of the expedition, allowing more time on the grounds and immediate access to the action each morning. Shared single-bunk accommodations are included, with a limited number of private stateroom upgrades available for those seeking additional privacy and comfort.
