Catch billfish and big-game species, improve your skills, meet new friends and explore the destination: our six-day itinerary is all about creating a fun, immersive experience.
Anglers arrive at Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic and are transported (20-minute ride) to Cap Cana for check-in, to unwind, and to prepare for fishing with dinner at the host condo.
Our instructors will meet every angler at their skill level. New? We’ve got you. Advanced and want to dial in your technique? We’ve got you there, too. Bringing your fishing team? Perfect! Let us help you define your group’s fishing style so everyone is on the same page. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served on board.
Start to get dialed in on the most exciting bite in sport fishing. We are targeting blue marlin, but whites, sails, mahi, tuna, and wahoo also call the FADs home. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served on board. We’ll go out on the town for dinner to celebrate the winner of the mini-tournament, the 2024 Cap Cana Shootout, where it’s boat against boat for the win.
Departure times might vary for transport back to PUJ to catch your flight home.
Located on the eastern tip of Hispaniola, the Dominican Republic FAD season is in full swing in October, and we’ll be there right before the full moon takes hold mid-month. These select dates were chosen by the captains of the boats we’ll be fishing on, Doña Lucy, a 58-foot F&S Boatworks, and Black Gold, a 65-foot American Custom Yacht. These boats are two of the best fishing in the Caribbean today, and they are both equipped with Omni sonars for maximum fish-finding and maximum opportunities.
Coffee, breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served on board to keep you nourished for battle, and your instructors and crews are there to give advice, get you started pitching to billfish, or simply be your biggest cheerleader.
So, give your dead-baiting career a new lease on life and enjoy the blue marlin benefits only the Dominican Republic can provide with shot after shot of hungry blues and a real possibility of a grand slam. The billfish season peaks from June through August, but once September rolls around, the number of blues increases, and they stick around through January.
Just eight spots are available for this first-class trip to the Caribbean.
Learn more about fishing in the Dominican Republic:
Doña Lucy
This rig is a 58-foot F&S Boatworks tournament-winning machine. She has conquered the waters of the Caribbean, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, and has been an expert in the Dominican Republic waters for decades. This high-energy and positive crew is focused on keeping you on the fish and is one of the best at fishing the FADs and pitch-baiting blues.
Black Gold
Capt. Keith Bokenhagen is known as the grandfather of Dominican FAD fishing. Serious, hardcore and driven, he wants to be the high-hook boat at the end of each day. This 65-foot American Custom Yacht is outfitted with the very best in marine technology and trolls like a dream. Also tournament winners, this crew fishes hard, as if it’s tournament day every day, but still manages to keep the vibe upbeat, fun and positive.
Located at Marina Cap Cana, our Aquamarina and Punta Palmera condos are all two-bedroom, two-bath units with washers and dryers, and a full kitchen stocked with coffee, cream and sugar, and bottled water. Daily housekeeping services ensure your place stays tidy during the week. Two people per condo.
For your convenience, each condo includes a golf cart to explore Cap Cana.
Private local chefs are on staff for group dinners at the instructors’ condo nights one through four, and we’ll go out to dinner to celebrate our fishing successes on the last night. Breakfast on departure day will be available at the instructors’ condo as well.
