Cape Verde’s Blue Marlin Fishing Action from 2017 Penn Challenge

Catch all the action from the 2017 Penn Challenge tournament, held in Mindelo, Cape Verde. During this year’s event, 109 blue marlin were caught by the 15 participating teams. Of those, the largest was estimated to weigh 900 pounds, with another 35 more estimated over the 500-pound mark. The Dutch team, Penn Force One, released 11 blue marlin to finish in first place, where they also qualified for the prestigious Offshore World Championship.
