Walker’s Cay Rebirth

The rebirth of a legendary fishing location is now underway

Once one of sport-fishing’s most iconic destinations, the Bahamian island of Walker’s Cay was ravaged by two devastating back to back hurricanes, and has been closed to the public since 2005. Today, the small cay has returned to its nearly pristine natural state, where it has remained uninhabited and largely forgotten. Until now.

The rebirth of Walker’s Cay is now underway thanks to philanthropist and marlin fishing enthusiast Carl Allen. In the coming months, the remaining debris will be cleared to make way for a complete renovation, including a world-class public marina, lodging and more. Allen plans to have the infrastructure up and running by 2020.
