Steady Action in Hawaii

Kona continues to produce in winter

While winter in Kona, Hawaii, can often mean slow fishing, late 2021 has been a good one so far for Capt. Chris Donato aboard Benchmark, his classic 37-foot charter boat. A string of charters has seen plenty of action each day from blue marlin, striped marlin and spearfish, including one memorable day for a father and his young son. On another trip, the top fish of the day was estimated at nearly 700 pounds, respectable in anyone’s book.
