Lazy Marlin Hunt

Dates: March 19 – 23, 2026

The Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series kicks off the season with the highly anticipated Lazy Marlin Hunt, which targets the large female blue marlin that frequent the Big Island’s shores each spring. Release points are also awarded for tagged blue marlin, offering multiple ways to reach the leaderboard.

Thursday March 19
4-7:30 PM:
Final registration, Happy Hour, and Captains’ Meeting at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club

Friday 3/20, Saturday 3/21, & Sunday 3/22
6:30-7 AM: Visual check out North Side of Fuel Dock
7 AM: Shotgun Start
4 PM: Lines Out
6 PM: All boats inside Honokohau Marina
6:30 PM: Deadline for release video submissions (see below for exceptions)

Monday, March 23
(in conjunction w/the Lure Maker’s Challenge Registration)
4 PM: LMC Registration open for the next tournament
5 PM: Live Music, Party, and Dinner at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club
6:30 PM: Awards Presentation & Raffle Drawings
7:15 PM: Lure Maker’s Challenge Captain’s Meeting
