Kona’s Late Show
The final two tournaments of the 2026 Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series delivered big fish, a dramatic last-day charge and a fitting reminder of what Kona can do

Dates: March 19 – August 31, 2026
Founded in 1987, the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series is Hawaii’s preeminent billfishing competition, pitting the top Kona crews against one another for a season-long quest to be named HMTS Champion. The series comprises eight distinct tournaments held between March and August, with the majority taking place in July. Points accrue throughout the season from tag & release of blue and striped marlin, large weighed blue marlin, and weighed ahi, while each individual tournament offers a unique mix of base and optional jackpots. Optional series jackpots, and the coveted title for “Top Boat”, “Top Angler”, and “Biggest Marlin” drive strong competition within the Kona fleet.
