Anticipation is running high just two weeks before the kickoff of the 2024 Bermuda Triple Crown (BTC), which is setting up to be the largest and richest in the series’ 20-year history.
“We couldn’t be more optimistic about this year’s 20th anniversary series,” said Jennifer Dudas, tournament director. “All of the marinas in Bermuda are fully booked and a huge fleet of the sport’s biggest names is already in-bound from Florida, North Carolina and throughout the mid-Atlantic. With reasonable weather, we think we’ll reach our target payout of more than $2 million across the series’ three tournaments — our biggest purse ever.”
Driving the substantial payout are new optional jackpots introduced to commemorate the 20th anniversary running of the series. New jackpot categories include a Winner-Take-All for blue marlin, release points and gamefish divisions, as well as additional levels for billfish release points and each of the daily release point jackpots. Additionally, a new 20th Anniversary Bonanza Jackpot has been added for total billfish release points garnered across all three events in the series.
“With these new jackpots, the Bermuda Triple Crown is entering a new phase where our anglers are competing for purses that are on par with the largest events in the Bahamas and on the East Coast,” Dudas said.
Participating anglers and their families will also enjoy the BTC’s commitment to continuous improvement in food, social events and other dockside activities. Plans for this year’s running include new local vendors, more raffle prizes from our many generous sponsors, and an appearance by Traeger’s Barbeque King, Chef Chad, who will be turning out upscale appetizers, washed down with Gosling- and Tito’s-based cocktails, in Barr’s Park.
