The OBBC has donated over $500,000 to The Billfish Foundation and Coast Conservation Association for conservation work in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Orange Beach Billfish Classic starts the 2015 billfish tournament season in the Gulf of Mexico. It’s the first stop for the coveted Gulf Coast Triple Crown, which formed in 1998 for the sole purpose of providing financial support for conservation organizations that speak on behalf of all recreational fishermen. The tournament has raised more than $500,000 for The Billfish Foundation and the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA).

Hosted at the Wharf Marina Entertainment Complex in Orange Beach, Alabama, the Orange Beach Billfish Classic will take place May 13-17. The tournament surely will bring hot fishing in addition to many fun-filled events for crews, anglers and participants to enjoy. The captain’s meeting and kickoff party will take place Wednesday evening and the event will culminate with an awards brunch on Sunday morning.

“I’d like to take a minute to personally invite everyone to join us for the 2015 Orange Beach Billfish Classic,” says Johnny Dorland, tournament director. “Our staff will welcome you with open arms and we’ll all do our best to show you what a great experience this event has become, from the great fishing to our world-famous Gulf Coast hospitality. Come fishing with us this year — you won’t be disappointed.”
