Angler Jorge Pancho Jurado landed a record-setting 1,102-pound monster blue marlin over the weekend in Ecuador, according to this report from Capt. Luis Gomez Jr. of the Blue Marlin Lodge. Even more impressive: Jurado’s catch tops his own record blue of 1,014 pounds caught in 1984.
Jurado caught the grander on the Amalita while fishing at the Las Hierbas bank near Salinas.
