Congratulations to Marlin contributor and IGFA School of Sport Fishing co-founder Capt. Tony DiGiulian, who recently captured his 10,000th career billfish as deckhand, captain and angler. The memorable day occurred off Key West, Florida aboard the 70-foot Viking Nimrod, with captains Randle Enfinger and Richard Budlich.

And while over 3,200 of DiGiulian’s billfish have come from the Pacific, the majority of his marlin and sailfish were caught in the Atlantic Ocean. He also spent some time fishing in the Middle East off Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and El Gouna, Egypt, where he led his anglers to capture the first-ever swordfish on rod and reel in the Red Sea (interestingly, he records his swordfish catches separately since they are not considered billfish). And despite a highly successful career, DiGiulian remains just as passionate today as he did when he first began offshore fishing in the 1980s off Shinnecock, New York.
