Casa de Campo Classic Win Falls to Auspicious

Great marlin fishing kicks off the Casa de Campo tournament season in the Dominican Republic. Richard Gibson

The Florida Keys-based 74-foot Viking Auspicious held on to take top honors in this year’s Casa de Campo Blue Marlin Classic, with a three-day total of nine blue marlin releases. Twenty-one boats gathered to fish the tournament, held March 31-April 3, 2016, releasing a total of 85 blue marlin in three days. Reel Passion finished second, also releasing nine blues but falling just short on time. Waterman, based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, placed third with seven blues let go. Kevin Paul from Waterman was the Top Angler with six blue marlin releases.
