The Spencer 64 Southern C’s was designed as a fast, efficient platform for a veteran team that fishes hard. Every space—inside and out—was shaped around real crew workflow, balancing performance, comfort, and Spencer’s clean, purposeful aesthetic. From cockpit systems to bridge ergonomics to an interior built for both rigging and relaxation, Southern C’s reflects a modern tournament program dialed for results.
Cockpit and Bridge
The beamy cockpit sets the tone with hand-laid teak decking and an eight-rod rocket launcher positioned ahead of a large, insulated transom fish box. Utility systems sit neatly in L-shaped undergunwale hatches, eliminating clutter while keeping reel plugs, washdowns and shore power within easy reach.
The mezzanine blends comfort with capability. Twin ice dumps and a climate-controlled bench sit over a deep freezer to port, while a starboard catch-all station incorporates a freshwater faucet, storage drawers, and a dedicated locker for rigged baits.
Up top, the portside peninsula helm offers excellent sightlines and clean access to controls. A forward chaise longue conceals dual compartmented freezers, while the helm array pairs Garmin multifunction displays with a Furuno display for seamless redundancy. Glove boxes house dual VHFs and the Furuno Omni remote, and overhead drop-down boxes reveal a third Garmin screen, autopilot, a repeater, Miya Epoch teaser reels and another MFD.
Interior and Layout
The salon is warm, functional and tailored for real offshore use. A starboard love seat holds rigging tools and day-to-day essentials, while the portside L-shaped sofa stores reels and gear prepped before each trip. The dinette seats four with drawer storage beneath, and a spirits drawer built into the teak half wall adds subtle refinement. The galley features dual refrigerator/freezer drawers, a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, deep pantry cabinetry, and a hidden bread box beneath a removable counter segment.
Below, the forward master stateroom includes a queen berth, surrounding cabinetry and an en suite head with a large shower and bench. Aft to starboard, the crew opted for a dedicated tackle room—complete with rod racks, deep tackle drawers, and a wide, air-conditioned rigging counter—instead of a second guest head. A starboard crew bunkroom and port over-under berth share a full head, with additional dredge and tackle storage beneath the lower port bunk.
Engine Room and Performance
A watertight crash door leads to an engine room designed for easy movement and clean systems layout. Twin CAT C32Bs dominate the space with near stand-up headroom and clear sightlines aft to the lazarette and Seakeeper 14. Twin CAT generators mount cleanly on the aft bulkhead. Forward, the systems shelf houses the watermaker, Omni transducer, Headhunter pumps, ElectroSea system and dry-storage compartments.
Southern C’s cruises at 35 knots at 1,750 rpm while burning 140 gph at 73 percent load. Push it to 37 knots at 1,860 rpm and the load rises just 1 percent. At a high cruise of 1,970 rpm, she reaches 39.8 knots, and she tops out at 45 knots wide open—plenty of pace to keep her ahead of the fleet.
