It’s Game On for the Win at the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament

The competition tightens for the South Carolina Governor’s Cup

The 49th Annual Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament in Georgetown, South Carolina, attracted a fleet of 38 boats, all looking forward to good fishing and spirited competition. Game On put together two great days on the water to walk away with the win as Outstanding Billfish Boat and also Outstanding Conservationist. Game On owner Bubba Roof, Capt. Trey “Cricket” McMillan and angler Kelli Ann Roof released two blue marlin and boated a third, which weighed 477.2 pounds, to sweep the tournament’s top awards.

Manly and Graham Eubank’s Sportin’ Life finished in second place with one blue marlin and three sailfish released by anglers Graham Eubank and James Lucas. Sportin’ Life is captained by Bobby Garmany. Caramba took third place: Owner Bob Faith, Capt. Dale Lackey and anglers Bill Turbefille and Bennett Griffin released one blue marlin, one white marlin and one sailfish over the course of the tournament. Big Sky, owned by Jim Johnston, weighed in the second big blue marlin of the tournament at 460.1 pounds. In addition to the two blue marlin brought to the scales, there were six blue marlin, four white marlin and 15 sailfish released by the entire fleet.
