International Billfish Tournament (IBT) Prepares for Top Notch Tournament Sept. 3-9

IBT of Club Náutico de San Juan heads off with 193 anglers, including 43 visiting anglers on 49 participating boats.

The International Billfish Tournament (IBT) of Club Náutico de San Juan began today with 193 anglers, including 43 visiting anglers on 49 participating boats.

South Africa has a three member team, Guatemala with two and United States and Puerto Rico each with 13 fishing teams. Other anglers from Dominican Republic, Curazao and Venezuela are competing.

Chairman Ricky Jaén and the Organizing Committe are hosting anglers from Texas, Florida, and New Jersey who are enjoying the Puerto Rican hospitality.

The Tournament is an all-inclusive event with trendy parties, the best food in town, and services. It is the longest consecutively held big game fishing tournament in the world and attracts anglers from all over the world to fish in Marlin Alley, a natural geological trench about a mile and a half off North the coast of San Juan.
