Your VHF radio, one of the most important tools on any boat that ventures offshore, can mean the difference between life and death in an emergency situation. During an emergency, it may be impossible to quickly get a read on your position, so the Standard Horizon GX2200 MATRIX AIS/GPS features a 66-channel WAAS GPS antenna integrated into the front panel of the radio, so now there is no need to hassle with wiring the radio to a GPS for digital selective calling or automated identification system. The MATRIX AIS/GPS features an 80-decibel commercial-grade receiver with local/distance attenuator, ITU Class D DSC, and a powerful 30-watt PA/Loud Hailer. The unit can save up to 100 waypoints, which may be selected and navigated to by using a unique navigation compass display that shows your vessel’s SOG, COG, bearing and distance to the waypoint.

Sperry The Shock Lite II Courtesy Sperry

Sperry built its reputation on building shoes that could stick to a wet deck like glue — a characteristic that any boat lover will appreciate. While the look and designs of its shoes may have evolved over time, Sperry’s commitment to making shoes that can take the abuse of offshore conditions and keep the wearer on board the vessel has never wavered. The new Shock Lite II goes a step further by using Top-Sider’s patented ASV Technology, which decreases the effects of hull pounding by up to 30 percent. This significantly reduces muscle fatigue and soreness and leads to a better day on the water.

The Shock Lite II features an adjustable bungee, which keeps the shoe secure, yet is still easy to get on and off. A removable full-length compression molded EVA foot bed maximizes comfort underfoot, and the nylon and mesh uppers and linings promote ultra-fast drying.
