The second day of fishing continued to be fantastic with many marlin being released, huge tuna, speedy wahoo and colorful dorado being caught. For Catherine and Jerry Parker of Bakersfield CA fishing aboard Tantrum their trip has become a dream vacation. Following Catherine’s 24.3-pound winning dorado on day one Jerry catches a 24.6 pound winning dorado on day two giving the couple a gross over $3,500, Top Lady angler for Catherine on day one and a lifetime of memories. Another angler and Charter Boat doubling up was Mike Rosi of Lower Lake CA fishing on Santi I winning third place tuna honors for a second day in a row with his 80.3-pound fish earning over $1300 so far. The Kehoe family from NY fishing on Minerva V also stayed hot with Brian Kehoe catching a 31.8-pound second place wahoo giving the family over $2500. The big fish noise on the dock was compliments of Tony Duffell and Andy Atkins fishing aboard Tracy Ann. The two anglers from the UK weighed a 201.1-pound first place tuna for Duffell and 116-pound second place tuna for Atkins. Both anglers have also released multiple marlin during the event and experiencing a fishing trip of a lifetime. Top Lady angler for her Third Place 20.2 Dorado went to Connie Owen of Camarillo CA fishing on Ole Ole.
No qualifying marlin came to the scales so that prize money was shared evenly among the game fish winners. A total of $10,000 in cash plus trophies and prizes is award during each of the four days of fishing. The tournament continues today with the third day of fishing featuring 318 eligible anglers from all over the world fishing on 111 different charter boats.
