Los Cabos, MEXICO (November 18, 2014) – The second annual Los Cabos Big Game Charter Boat Classic, hosted by the Los Cabos Tourism Board and features a Free Angler entry for visitors and non-fishing professionals who fish on a Los Cabos Charter Boat during the tournament days, kicked off as anglers hope to take home the top titles.

The tournament awards a total of $40,000 in cash plus great trophies and prizes for tuna, wahoo, dorado and marlin. The tournament also awards prizes for billfish releases, top lady angler and top junior angler.

Each of the four fishing days awards $10,000. Anglers can fish any of the four fishing days by registering no later than 7:00 p.m. the prior evening. The tournament features three weigh stations including East Cape, San Jose and Cabo San Lucas.

The first day of competition saw 225 anglers from the UK, Canada, Mexico and 27 different U.S. states, who took advantage of the Free Entry and hit the fertile waters off Los Cabos for the 7:30 a.m. start.

The anglers and guests are fishing aboard 75 different Los Cabos Charter Boats, enjoying a fun day on the water with a chance to win cash compliments of The Los Cabos Tourism Board. The dorado bite has been fantastic, lots of wahoo have been caught near the shore and good numbers of marlin are being released.

Fishing ends and weigh-in begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Fundadores Marina Weigh Gantry and Fisherman's Landing Bar & Restaurant, Buena Vista Hotel & Resort and Puerto Los Cabos Palapas. We are receiving additional entries online and signing up anglers from 5-7pm at each weigh-in location. The tournament will be posting daily results on the Facebook https://www.facebook.com/loscabosbiggameclassic and website.
