CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO — Due to Hurricane Paul passing just north of Cabo San Lucas on Tuesday, the Port Captain closed the port, which postponed Day 1 of fishing of the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament. Teams still interested in registering for the now two-day fishing tourney can contact Dan Jacobs or Lynda Wilson any time Wednesday.
Participating teams will now hit the water on Thursday, October 18, in hopes of earning some of the estimated $400,000 in cash and prizes by releasing the most billfish or catching the largest marlin, tuna, wahoo and dorado during the tournament’s two days of fishing. The awards ceremony begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and will take place at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa’s beachside terrace.
