The world’s most competitive sport-fishing teams will descend upon Key Largo, Florida, March 8-11, 2017, for football coaching legend Jimmy Johnson’s Championship Fishing Week, which culminates in the two-day National Billfish Championship and a $1 million purse at stake. Additional events include a one-day celebrity pro-am and one-day sport-fish championship.
In addition to the cash, teams will also have the opportunity to join Johnson’s Ring of Honor. Each year, he presents the winning team with his famed National Championship ring. “As many of you know, I love a good competition,” says Johnson. “We continue to grow each year and I am thrilled to have our partners at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino join us down in the Keys to help us make this impact on the sport of fishing. Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill Restaurant, located in Key Largo, Florida, hosts the weekend festivities. Guest accommodations will be available at Marriott Key Largo and Ocean Reef Club, among other locations. Kick-off events will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino the week before the event.
