I first saw the new Regulator 35 at the 2025 Miami Boat Show. Sitting high and dry on the convention floor, its flawless fit and finish were immediately apparent. But a boat like this isn’t meant to sit at a show—it’s built for blue water.
My chance came in early March off Pompano Beach, Florida. Conditions were perfect—a clear sky, a gentle breeze and just enough chop to evaluate performance. The Hillsboro Inlet, congested with early-weekend boat traffic, provided the ideal setting to assess the Regulator 35’s renowned dryness and stability.

As we idled out, I took in the layout. This is a fishing boat at heart, with a massive pressurized center-transom livewell, multiple fish boxes and well-thought-out bait stations. Regulator built this boat with hardcore anglers in mind but didn’t forget comfort. The split forward seating with a walk-through to the bow is both functional and inviting, and the raised bullnose toe rail adds confidence when moving about the deck.
Once past the inlet, we opened up the throttles. Powered by triple Yamaha Offshore F350s, the Regulator 35 offers smooth, yet authoritative, acceleration. At cruising speed, I was struck by the ride’s stability and dryness. The confused waters of the Hillsboro Inlet—churned up by heavy boat traffic—were smoothly traversed in the 35, thanks to its deep-V hull and balanced design.

A standout feature is the new Dometic DG3 gyrostabilizer, which had a notable response time, engaging rapidly and powering down efficiently. Impressively, it also automatically disengages during sharp turns and reengages once the boat straightens out. This feature was a game-changer, particularly when making quick adjustments offshore.
The helm is another area where the Regulator 35 makes a statement. The triple helm station, raised deck and center-set wheel offer excellent visibility. The massive twin Garmin 9000 series screens provide all the information needed at a glance, and the Regulator MyHelm interface makes managing key functions extremely easy, whether tracking fish, setting waypoints or monitoring systems.

Beyond its performance and fishability, the Regulator 35 doesn’t skimp on luxury. Below deck, the console interior is surprisingly spacious, featuring sleeping accommodations for two, a stand-up electric head and ample storage. High-end finishes throughout, including custom Sunbrella accents, elevate the experience, making this boat as comfortable as it is capable.

By the end of the sea trial, I was thoroughly impressed with this boat. The Regulator 35 is an offshore performer, combining serious fishability with refined luxury. Its stability, dryness and overall ride quality make it a standout, while thoughtful innovations—such as the new Dometic gyrostabilizer and intuitive helm configuration—set it apart even more. Whether you’re chasing pelagics offshore or just cruising with family and friends to the sand bar, this boat is up to the task. Regulator has once again proved why it is a leader in the center-console market with the new 35.
