Firecracker Open Big Game Tournament

Dates: July 3 – 6, 2026

2025 Firecracker Open

Set over the July 4th weekend, concurrent with the Blue Marlin World Cup, the signature Firecracker Open Big Game Tournament gives Kona teams the chance to compete on a global scale while also winning big locally. The event features a base purse split between blue marlin and ahi, along with multiple optional jackpots for both weighed and tagged fish.

Friday, July 3, 2026 — REGISTRATION & CAPTAINS MEETING
1PM – 3PM: Early Registration at Fuel Dock office
4PM: Final registration & Captains’ Meeting at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club
5PM: Base Entry withdrawal deadline*
6PM: Official briefing
8PM: Clubhouse registration deadline*
10:30PM: Registration withdrawal deadline*

Saturday, July 4, 2026 — FISHING DAY 1
6AM: Boats allowed to leave Honokohau Harbor
6:15AM – 8AM: Last minute Optional Addition at Fuel Dock
6:15AM – 8:30AM: Visual check-out of vessels leaving harbor.
8:30AM: Start Fishing ANYWHERE!
4:30PM: Stop Fishing
6PM: All boats inside Honokohau Harbor*
6:30PM: T&R video submission deadline*

Sunday, July 5, 2026 — FISHING DAY 2
6:15AM – 7AM: Visual check-out of vessels leaving harbor.
7AM: Start Fishing SHOTGUN START!
4PM: Stop Fishing
6PM: All boats inside Honokohau Harbor*
6:30PM: T&R video submission deadline*

Monday, July 6, 2026 — AWARDS BANQUET
(in conjunction with Kona Throw Down registration)
4 PM: Awards Banquet at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club
6:30PM: Awards Presentation & Giveaway Drawings
