The new Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible has made it to the docks at the 55th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show! Viking will proudly premiere the new flagship and largest sport-fisher to date at the show this week as part of a 15-boat display at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. To afford ample viewing time, contact your Viking dealer for a personal reservation to board these spectacular additions to the Viking line.
The first Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible has left the building! On schedule, Palm Beach Towers will install its custom tuna tower, while Atlantic Marine Electronics finishes up the navigation and entertainment systems. Engineering sea trials take place over the next several weeks in preparation of the yacht’s first showing during Viking Yacht’s 50th Anniversary gala celebration in Atlantic City, with customer sea trials that happened on September 10.
This image of the Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible reveals its true size in comparison to the Viking 62 Convertible on its port side. At every level, the 92 EB is an incredible work in progress with Viking’s shipwrights tending to seemingly endless tasks on the bridge, in the salon, and on the mezzanine. Unseen shipwrights are dealing with mechanical installations in the lazarette and engine room.
But the view also details how far the work has progressed. It was only last summer when Viking Yachts was crafting the plugs to create the many molds needed to build this boat. From this vantage point, the dual level mezzanine is apparent, as are the dual staircases to the upper level. The installation of the enclosed bridge glass windows lends an accurate height measurement. The physical height of the shipwrights provides a true-life scale. The excitement surrounding this epic new model, the largest in Viking’s 50-year history, resonates throughout the plant.
Viking 92 Convertible
The largest boat in Viking’s 50-year history, the Viking 92 Convertible is moving down Line 1. Hull 92101 will be an enclosed bridge model, and late last week, the bridge was installed on the deckhouse. While the images provide a sense of this achievement, to truly appreciate the magnitude of this development consider this: the enclosed bridge is 38 feet, 1 inch long. This means that the bridge itself is five feet longer than the first all-fiberglass boat Viking built in 1971, which was its 33 Convertible.
The aft view, which shows the 92 EB in relation to the 62 Convertible to the left on Line 2. The cutout in the center of the hardtop is for the tuna tower being built by Viking Yacht’s subsidiary, Palm Beach Towers.
The Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible continues to make progress each day on Line 1, but the sheer size of it is truly amazing during the construction phase. Here’s a view into the full beam (24 feet, 1 inch) master stateroom from the 102-inch long starboard side port light.
The grandest boat in Viking’s 50-year history splashes in 2014.
Inside, the enclosed bridge work already is progressing. Don’t worry, that’s a fan, not a bow thruster in the middle windshield!
Staying true to the Viking Yacht Company’s roots to build a better boat every day, the Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible is nothing less than amazing.
