I have never been aboard any Hatteras with as much customization as Reel Time.
Hatteras designed its new 60 convertible as its “Tournament Edition,” and I can honestly report that the company has never designed or built a better-running, faster, smoother-riding boat.
With ongoing improvements such as those found aboard this 77 Convertible, is it any wonder that Hatteras still commands global respect atop the sport-fishing-yacht marketplace?
This 60 represents a significant departure from “business as usual” for Hatteras…
During the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, owners as well as prospective customers met with the Hatteras design team to perfect the four-stateroom, four-head arrangement that will include a full-beam master stateroom, as well as crew’s quarters for two with a private entrance.
In 1959, Hatteras Yachts debuted its first boat. Now called Knit Wits, it is still in remarkably Bristol condition. I fished it not long ago and found it to be an exquisite piece of work.
Hatteras Yachts is currently working on a redesign of its most successful sport-fishing yacht since the company’s inception in 1959: the Hatteras 65 Convertible.
Thanks to a sleek profile, rounded enclosed flybridge and low center of gravity, the brand-new Hatteras 70 stands as one of the most attractive mega-sport-fishermen to hit the water in a long time.
It’s said that you never get a second chance at a first impression. Hatteras’ new 60 Convertible won’t need a second chance, because you won’t be able to take your eyes off her.
That’s right – 90.
Running south with the wind and seas from the southeast required us to drop back speed to 18 to 20 knots. This is when an enclosed bridge truly shines! We plowed through, taking it virtually on the nose for 30 miles back to Palm Beach with absolute impunity.
