Benchmark’s Capt. Chris Donato shows us the winter marlin fishery off Kona. In a three day stretch, he’s managed to catch a nice blue marlin, a spearfish, and also going five for six on striped marlin, thanks in part to the 76-degree water. There’s no doubt the fishery remains just as strong in the winter as it does in other parts of the year. Donato will return in February, just in time for the first run of large blue marlin.
