Marlin University is now Marlin Expeditions! We travel to the best big-game destinations on Earth, at peak times of the year, and teach the most cutting-edge techniques to catch billfish. Check out our 2026 expeditions.

Some of my earliest memories are of standing barefoot on a Long Island beach, rod tucked under my arm, scanning the surf for signs of striped bass. I was just a kid, but the obsession came early. In our family, vacations weren’t theme parks or resorts. They were fishing trips, wherever in the world the bite was good. That foundation shaped everything that followed. At 8 years old, I caught my first blue marlin—an estimated 350 pounds—and from that moment on, there was no turning back. Over the years, fishing has taken me across oceans, cultures and continents in pursuit of fish I had only dreamed of and the stories that come with them. But somewhere along the way, something shifted. While I’m proud of the fish I’ve caught, the moments that mean the most to me now aren’t just about what I reel in. The greatest joy today comes from helping others experience moments they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives—which is exactly what led me to Marlin Expeditions.

Marlin Expeditions has earned its reputation the right way: through decades of well-run trips, highly respected instructors, and a loyal base of anglers who trust the brand. It has long served as a gateway for anglers of all skill levels looking to step beyond their home waters and into world-class fisheries with confidence.

At the same time, every great program reaches a point where it can evolve. Not because anything is broken, but because opportunity exists. When I look at Marlin Expeditions today, I see a platform with enormous potential—not to change what works, but to build on it thoughtfully and boldly.

My vision is simple in concept and ambitious in execution: Put the adventure back in Marlin Expeditions.
There is a big world out there, and some of the most extraordinary big-game fisheries on Earth remain lightly explored, even by experienced anglers. There’s also a growing appetite for trips that go beyond simply checking a destination off a list—experiences that incorporate competition, culture and true adventure.

That means expanding into new domestic and international locations—hidden gems with healthy fisheries and strong local character. It means offering tournament-style formats alongside traditional instructional trips for anglers who want to test themselves in a competitive environment. It means elevating the entire operation with more refined logistics, elevated customer service, and thoughtfully curated experiences that feel seamless from the moment you book to the moment you’re home reliving the highlights.

To support this growth, we’ll continue building a trusted network of world-class instructors, guides and partners who share the same standards and philosophy. High volume should never come at the expense of quality. With the right systems and people in place, it should elevate it.

So, if you haven’t experienced a Marlin Expedition yet, there’s never been a better time. And if you’ve traveled with us before, I invite you to come back and see what’s next.

Yes, you could book these trips yourself. You could piece together flights, boats, guides, hotels and logistics anywhere in the world. Our job is to take that burden off your shoulders and replace it with something far greater: a worry-free, world-class experience that weaves together exceptional fishing, local culture, adventure on and off the water, unforgettable meals, and the safety, security and know-how that comes from doing this at the highest level.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about where we go or what we catch. It’s about how it all comes together—and the stories you take home with you when it’s over.

That’s where we’re headed. And I can’t wait to take you there.
