The Casa Vieja Lodge Guatemala Fleet has a new addition.

Poco Loco, a 44-foot Kincheleo Nickerson, is available for charter for the 2018 fishing season out of Marina Pez Vela, Puerto San Jose. The boat was built in 1989 in Stuart, Florida, and it’s now the largest of the 10-boat fleet. The king of the fleet, the sport fisher has a maximum speed of 33 knots, cruising speed of 25 knots, two staterooms and an open salon. Capt. David Salazar, owner of the Casa Vieja Lodge, will navigate the Pacific Ocean with helps from a triple Simrad HD Display NSS12 evo3 and Halo-4 Radar.

“We want to offer our clients more space and luxury while they are out on the pacific waters,” Salazar said. “This also makes fishing a group of five much more comfortable.”

Selecting a new boat for the Casa Vieja Lodge fleet, let alone a name, doesn’t come easy. But Salazar said the choice fits his personality.

“I’m a little crazy, un Poco Loco,” Salazar said. “It just seems right.”
