On September 23, 2015, Matt Santora and Capt. Andy Vo caught a 662.2-pound blue marlin aboard Finbomb, a 21-foot center console, off San Diego, California. The catch is the second-largest blue marlin ever recorded in California and is only surpassed by a 692-pounder landed in 1931. It took the crew nearly three hours to land the fish on stand-up gear with a two-speed Shimano Talica 25 loaded with 100-pound braid.
