Casa de Campo
In recent years, anglers have enjoyed outstanding billfish action while fishing out of Marina Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. It seems that during each additional season (February through May), fishing just gets better. During the 2013 season, the local fleet released a total of 621 blue marlin. There was even one day in April where Caroline released 11 blues all by itself.
Jaw-dropping numbers like these spawned the idea of creating a new tournament based out of Casa de Campo. Fishing for the inaugural Casa de Campo Blue Marlin Classic will take place on March 22 and 23. Tournament organizers have arranged official observers, attractive calcuttas, great prizes, trophies and parties.
The marina offers a full array of services, including a shipyard and dry dock. There are 370 slips that can accommodate boats from 30 to 250 feet. It’s conveniently located and is close to top-notch golf courses, great restaurants, banks, a supermarket and even has its own yacht club.
