
Wild Hooker won the Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament in Mexico’s Cabo San Lucas thanks to a 450-pound black marlin caught Sunday, Oct. 16, the last day of the two-day tournament.The Texas-based team won $263,951, from the top tournament entry and all three Day Two optional billfish jackpots.
Go Naked caught a 391-pound blue Saturday to win the second-place tournament and optional jackpot categories, earning the team $235,034. The Nice Ride team won $8,505 after finishing third, with a 366-pound blue.

In the Release Division, Sea Angel released four blue marlin and one striped marlin, good for 1,300 points and $50,830. Team Galati followed in second-place, earning, $17,595, while Pocket Aces finished third for $9,775.
“I’m just blown away by how much this event has grown over these past few years in the number of boats and prize money,” said Wayne Bisbee, the tournament director, after the conclusion of Sunday’s awards banquet at the Maria Corona Restaurant. “We’ve come a long way in a few short years.”

Thousands of pounds of the weighed fish were donated to the Feeding Los Cabos Kids charity, which provides high-protein meals through support centers in the local barrios.
The event is the second in a series of three Bisbee’s events in the Baja California Sur. The East Cape Offshore, with a similar billfish/game fish format, is held each summer at the Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort. The Black and Blue Marlin Jackpot Tournament, the richest fishing event in the world, also just concluded in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
