    The year 1996 will go down as the year of big wahoo. In both the Pacific and the Atlantic, world records tumbled. An amazing new all-tackle world-record of 158 pounds, 8 ounces was caught on 50-pound test off Loreto, Baja California, by Keith Winter of Capistrano Beach. And in the women's division, a new 50-pound world record of 153 pounds, 8 ounces was caught off San Salvador by Gabrielle Knapp. The fish is the heaviest wahoo ever caught by a woman under IGFA regulations.
