Mister Pete Wins Again in Georgetown

The popular team wins Leg Two of the 2018 South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series

Coming off their win in the Bohicket Marina Invitational two weeks ago, Capt. Alan Neiford and the team on Mister Pete has now won the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the second leg of the South Carolina Governor’s Cup, with three blue marlin releases for the team. This also puts them in first place for the series championship.

A number of blue marlin had been seen by the 59-boat fleet, but few managed to capitalize on the bite, fishing two of the three days of the tournament. Capt. Miles Herring’s Glazed released one blue and one white marlin for second place on time, while Capt. Dan Woody on Syked Out placed third with a single blue marlin and a spearfish.

Syked Out‘s Holly McAlhany, the tournament’s top lady angler, secured her second win for the series, releasing both of her team’s fish for their third-place finish. The Outstanding Youth Angler was Chandler Griffin, who released one blue marlin aboard Gryphon.
