AFTCO RDT Seat-Butt
All good anglers know how much drag they’re putting on their gear at any given time during a fight. This allows them to apply maximum pressure without fear of breaking the line. When you can do that, it results in faster catch times, which is good for both the fish and the angler. AFTCO’s new RDT Seat-Butt (ARDT) is an electronic scale that’s built into the reel seat/rod butt and displays the exact amount of drag tension on your line as you fight a fish. The ARDT senses the forward pressure of the reel as line is pulled against the drag and converts this pressure into a digital drag reading in pounds or kilograms. The easy-to-read LCD screen displays your exact drag tension, regardless of spool diameter, amount of line out, reel size or line test. This innovation allows any angler — expert or novice — to see exactly how much drag tension is being applied during the fight. The ARDT is sold as a complete rugged and waterproof unit and includes the RDT digital readout, No. 2 reel seat (111/2 inches long by 1 inch in diameter) and an anodized 6061-T6 aluminum butt, which weighs 19 ounces. It will handle lines, reels and drag settings up to 80-pound-test. For more information, visit www.aftco.com.
