New Zealand’s The Ultimate Fishing Show, with Matt Watson, recently filmed a captivating video of a big swordfish being attacked by a mako shark boat-side. During the video, the mako attacks the billfish and lingers while waiting for it to die. The commentator says that swordfish float when they are killed and blue marlin sink. So, when a mako shark kills a swordfish, it waits for its prey to die so that it does not get thrashed by its bill. Whereas with marlin, a mako shark will try to eat the fish as fast as it can before the marlin sinks to the bottom of the sea.
