Marlin Magazine recognizes the huge effort made by crews steaming to Bermuda from the United States and the Bahamas to fish the Bermuda Big Game Classic – the longest sea crossing without a fueling station, watering hole or landmass along the way for any billfish tournament. The Banks off Bermuda possess the most consistent large blue marlin fishery in the world. The Bermuda-based and visiting crews fishing the event represent some of the most competitive teams in tournament fishing, running some of the top boats from the best boat manufacturers in the world.

Marlin Magazine and the top sportfishing yacht manufacturers put together this unique division within the 2013 Bermuda Big Game Classic. In dramatic fashion, the team on the 70′ Viking Fa-La-Me released four blue marlin and scored 2,000 points to be the first repeat winner of the Marlin Magazine Manufacturer’s Cup and to take second place in the Bermuda Big Game Classic. Their total of seven blue marlin releases during the three-tournament series earned them 3,500 points, placing fifth overall in the Bermuda Triple Crown Billfish Championship. Our sincere congratulations, thanks and admiration go to Viking Yachts and the crew aboard Fa-La-Me.
