Remember the old days when you had to be careful about which bass lures you stored side by side in your tackle box to keep the baits from melting together in a sticky mess or actually eating their way through the tackle-box tray? Well, even today, some lures don't get along well with others when stored together. Various kinds of plastics may interact in ways that can damage any lures that come in contact with each other. To keep these more volatile plastics separate, place your lures and skirts in Saran wrap or similar kitchen cellophane. Shielding the lures and skirts with protective plastic sheeting works best when storing unrigged lures. It's a nuisance to wrap up lures that are already rigged and that get a lot of use.
