Marlin magazine is the bible for big-game fishermen. It is written for the most affluent anglers who need to know what is happening around the world regarding offshore fishing. It is the definitive "who's who" of the sport, written in the voice of the sportfisherman, one-on-one to a peer, as a member of this elite fraternity. Marlin magazine will continue to be the No. 1 buy in big-game fishing by delivering the best targeted edit to the wealthiest boat-owning saltwater fishermen in the world.

Marlin continues to be the No. 1 resource for big-game blue-water fishing. We target only the inboard sport-fishing market with just the right amount of boat coverage, exotic fishing destinations, product reviews, tournament recaps, nostalgia and, of course, insights into how to catch and release trophy fish. Our readers revere Marlin as their favorite magazine because we deliver the best-written saltwater fishing publication, which satisfies their affluent needs and desires.

Billfishing-stalking prime blue-water destinations in search of elusive, hard-fighting game fish-is the sport of choice for the world's most affluent anglers. And Marlin is their magazine. Requiring keen fishing skills, a sizable offshore boat and endurance, hooking a half-ton marlin and bringing it to the boat unites this exclusive, close-knit community in an international brotherhood.

MARLIN U - THE OFFSHORE FISHING SCHOOL
Marlin University, a unique offshore fishing school run by the editors of Marlin magazine, just finalized its dates for 2005. The school will offer four sessions in 2005: March 17-22 in Guanamar, Costa Rica; July 14-19 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; September 13-18, St. Thomas, USVI; and finishing up November 6-14 on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Students learn the basics of boat handling, bait rigging and angling. If there's anything you want to know about offshore, big-game fishing, the instructors at Marlin U can teach it.

A typical session includes four days of fishing with nightly instruction from Capt. Peter Wright, Marlin magazine editor Dave Ferrell, and a host of professional captains and mates from around the world. The Australian curriculum offers five days of fishing. An all-inclusive price takes care of everything but your tips and airfare, so join us at Marlin U in 2005 for the educational experience of a lifetime.

TOURNAMENTS
Marlin magazine sponsors over 100 international big-game fishing tournaments. The Los Cabos Bill Fishing Tournament and the inaugural Bermuda Big Game Classic are the two jewels in the Marlin tournament crown. These are multiple-day team events competing for trophies and cash prizes for largest and released billfish, underscoring the magazine's concern for species protection and conservation. There are ample, collateral advertising opportunities in print, Internet, direct mail and on-site product branding.
