Thunder Marine, The Green Armada and West Marine announce a first of its kind, clean-up project to help local waterways stay clean. It's calling for boaters, kayakers and land based volunteers to help in the effort.
Thunder Marine knows the importance of informing and educating the public about clean boating. "We feel it's our duty to help protect and enhance the beautiful waterways that surround us, we joined forces with the best in the business to make this clean up hit the history books", said General Manager Steve Wacker.
On April 12th a localized coastal clean up will commence from Thunder Marine and cover the ICW from Clearwater, to the north and Gandy Bridge to the south. Registration begins at 7:30am with all participants on the water by 8:30am. The day will come to a close with a "Clean Up" party and awards ceremony at the Green Iguana Restaurant on Bay Pines Blvd. at 1:00pm.
People interested in participating are encouraged to go www.Green Armada.org or www.ThunderMarine.com for complete details and registration. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. |
