The International Game Fish Association proudly welcomes the arrival of Louis Marron's 1,182-pound Broadbill Swordfish.  Originally landed in 1953 and recently restored by King Sailfish Mounts, the magnificent mount will soon be on display for all to see at the IGFA headquarters in Dania Beach, Florida.
 
During restoration, the thick layer of plaster which had covered the bill for 57 years was removed for the first time revealing the aggressive nature of this particular fish.  Broken off at the tip, what remains indicates that the fish had used it's bill violently, as evidenced by the numerous deep gouges into the bonelike structure which could have only resulted from a lifetime of extreme use.  The tip appears to have been broken well before the final epic battle, as substantial amounts of scar tissue had accumulated where it had once snapped off.   These unique scars are visible in the restored mount.
