The 30th annual MBGFC Junior Angler Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 6.

The Mobile Big Game Fishing Club is proud to host the 30th Annual Junior Angler Tournament. This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Last year, we had over 150 registered Junior Anglers and there were 13 billfish tagged. We hope to carry that momentum into this year’s tournament. We recognize that the Junior Anglers represent the future of our club and our sport; it is my goal as tournament chairman to make sure each angler has a positive experience. There will be on-site registration Friday, July 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. All interested anglers are encouraged to pre-register. If you pre-register and do not fish (for any reason), your entry fee will be refunded. The registration fee is $40/per angler for non-members and $30/per for MBGFC Junior Angler members. Dinner will be provided by the club, and will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. The captain’s meeting will follow at 8 p.m. All boats must sign out at the captain’s meeting. Please feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected] if you have any questions. We will fish Saturday, July 6. In the offshore category, prizes will be awarded 1st through 4th for Catch and Release and 1st through 3rd for Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo. In addition to the offshore category, we will also provide awards 1st through 3rd for King Mackerel, Amberjack, Bonito, Spanish Mackerel and Speckled Trout. We have some great prizes for the kids this year. We look forward to seeing you at our 30th Annual Junior Angler Tournament. Give your karma a kick in the right direction – take a kid fishing, it seems to work!
