The latest offering from Justin Roper at Makaira Pulling Lures, the Thunder Horse is 21/2 inches long and sports a 2-inch-diameter head. And with a 13-inch overall length, Thunder Horse makes the perfect large lure to rig with 11/0 or 12/0 hooks on 80- to 130-pound tackle. The lure sports a flat face and a center hole, which makes for a straight-running, rooster-tailing, popping, smoking, tight-wiggling sob! It runs great off either corner, the rod tip or riggers. Or, if you prefer the bait-and-switch, run the lure off your bridge teaser. This lure also makes an awesome rough-water lure for those guys who like to fish in the slop! As with all Makaira lures, you can get the Thunder Horse in unweighted, keel-weighted, center-weighted or reverse-keel-weighted versions.
