River2Sea Sea Rock cedar plugs

Although the construction may be traditional, the finish on the outside of these plugs is anything but.

The regular old cedar plug still catches tons of fish. Melding a torpedo-shaped lead head with a plain piece of red cedar produces a lure that dances and wobbles like crazy. The secret to its action is the way the crotch of the hook pulls the lure through the water from the back. Today you'll find these plugs made from just about anything - including aluminum and stainless steel. River2Sea recently started the Sea Rock line of cedar plugs, returning to the traditional wood/lead construction.

Although the construction may be traditional, the finish on the outside of these plugs is anything but. Realistic patterns and a plethora of color combinations glisten under a super-tough clear coat. The lures come rigged on mono leaders suitable for their size. River2Sea makes several different sizes including a 4 1/4-inch, 1 1/2-ounce size up to an 8 1/2-inch, 8-ounce monster. The plugs come with needle-eye hooks ranging in size from 8/0 to 11/0.
