Mustad Perfect Inline Circles

Marlin

If you haven’t heard about the benefits of using circle hooks for bill- and bottomfishing applications, then you must have been sleeping under a rock for the last 10 years. Used by the longline industry for ages, circle hooks almost always hook a fish in the corner of its jaw, leaving the fish relatively unharmed. As an additional bonus, once a fish gets hooked on a circle hook, it rarely comes unbuttoned. The problem is that most folks like to offset their circle hooks by turning out the barb a bit. This in effect turns a circle hook into a J hook — canceling out all of its former attributes.

Instead of messing with your circle hooks, choose one of Mustad’s new 39944BLN Perfect Inline Circles. These 4X strong hooks are true circles, without any offset whatsoever, and should be OK for use in any tournament that specifies the use of true circle hooks. A super-slick bronze finish allows the hook to penetrate easily, and a large ring eye makes a perfect resting spot for your snell.
