For those of you catching and keeping (not just fishing), once that wahoo comes aboard, it’s going to need a little processing before it becomes food. Consequently, a good, sharp knife is as valuable to big-game mates as a good pair of pliers. A knife made to clean fish needs to have a sharp blade, a good handle and a durable finish that can take the salty marine environment. Bubba Blade makes two heavy-duty knives that meet all of these criteria perfectly.

Both the 9-inch Stiffie and the 9-inch Flex fillet knives feature a 6-inch textured grip handle made from a thermoplastic polymer that’s wrapped in a special super-sticky rubber. The blades are made from stainless steel with a Teflon coating, and the tang extends all the way through the handle. A trigger grip lets you apply extra pressure, while the thumb and finger pads allow for greater control. And, of course, they boast a razor-sharp edge.
