Each year the number of marine artists contributing to Marlin's annual Art Gallery continues to grow. This year proved no different — Marlin received original works from 45 artists based around the world. Artists from Australia, the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica and all over the United States and the Caribbean contributed artwork hoping to make it into the gallery.
Because of the growing number of submissions and our limited space, getting selected as a finalist and printed in the magazine becomes more difficult each year. We receive a wide range of original art for consideration, including sculptures, paintings, carvings, glasswork, pen and ink and mixed media. The range of styles and mediums makes it extremely hard for our panel of judges to select those pieces that make it in the magazine. In the end, numerous unique and impressive pieces of art were left out because of space limitations. All of these works are worthy of consideration. For that reason, we put art online from every artist who submits a piece for you to view at your discretion.
