Tiara Yachts

For more than four decades, the family behind Tiara Yachts has turned out hard-core fishing boats with the flash and comfort often associated with much larger cruisers. The vision behind the Tiara brand can be traced back to Leon Slikkers, one of boatbuilding's great innovators. Slikkers began in the joiner department at Chris-Craft in 1946 and by 1954 he was building boats in his own shop under his new company name, Slickcraft. Just one year later, Slikkers began perfecting the use of a new material — fiberglass.
In the mid-1970s Slikkers launched the hugely successful S2 brand of sailboats, followed by the Tiara line of family cruisers and fishing boats. Tiara now offers express-style open sport-fishers from 29 to 42 feet and a 39-foot convertible.
"Our historical commitment to excellence began many years ago when our founder, Leon Slikkers, first established the corporate and boatbuilding philosophy along with the values we are determined to continue," says Tiara's Dave Walsh. "Tiara Yachts sets itself apart by pursuing the ultimate goal of perfection, through providing support to our dealers and building a product that inspires customer confidence and satisfaction."

For those anglers looking to get offshore in a safe and proven hull, with all the tools needed, Tiara introduced its Tournament Series. Available on the open models, the Tournament Series come pre-equipped with a distinctive hardtop, rod holders, spreader lights, and a front and side enclosure. Packages also include a large transom livewell, gunwale storage and a bait prep center with tackle storage drawers. The hull itself features a large, open cockpit with a low freeboard for handling fish at the boat and for providing a smooth, dry ride.
Tiara installs enough power to get its customers out to the fishing grounds at a good pace without suffering a bad ride. The 39 Convertible cruises at 30 mph with twin Volvo D9 diesels. At 2,000 rpms, the 42 cruises at 34.7 mph with Cat C-12 diesels for a range of 354 nautical miles.
"We are confident our products will be a source of pleasure, a matter of pride, and a lasting investment to their owners," Walsh says.
