Egg Harbor Yachts
Founded in 1946 by John Leek and Russell Post, Egg Harbor Yachts represents one of the oldest names in the U.S. boating industry. Over the past 61 years, the craftsmen at Egg Harbor have built thousands of boats, ranging in size from 33 to 60 feet. (And the company's plans for a 55 Sport Yacht are presently under development.)
Egg Harbor serves a particular niche in the sport-fishing market - the fishing-as-a-family segment. "Our company builds family-oriented boats," says vice president of sales and marketing, Bob Hazard. "When you go to an Egg Harbor rendezvous, you'll see a ton of families boating together. Just about everyone fishes our boats, but they also use them as a second vacation home. Since we are based in the Northeast, a lot of customers take their boats down to Florida each winter, stopping over for a day or two in nice spots along the way."

Vacuum-bagged resin infusion technology allows Egg to build lighter hulls and get more speed out of the standard power packages. But Egg Harbor isn't all about going fast; the company strives to build boats you can live on. "Our customers want more living area and more space inside for entertaining. Our high-gloss interiors and high-end amenities make you feel like you are stepping into someone's living room - and that's essentially what the salon is on an Egg Harbor - the owner's living room," says Hazard.
With such attention to the interior spaces, it's no wonder that Egg prides itself on its fit-and-finish. "Our joinery work has always been one of our strong points," says Hazard.
