I was a bit off base at the end of my last blog, as we do not leave for Panama until the end of September, but Erin and I found more Pacific Northwest Salmonids as Clancy and Gary continued to turn it on. Fishing with those guys is like making a withdrawal from the bank. They know where to go and what to do! The last day we fished, Erin got a nice Chinook (king) salmon of about 25 pounds, and I scored one that could have been 10 pounds bigger. Read More

An old saying goes: Everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it. A few wicked thunderstorms the day we left for Madeira left the staff and some of the students stuck in Philadelphia after misconnecting on our flights. We had to wait in baggage claim for almost four hours before FINALLY getting our bags off loaded in Philly so we could go get a motel room and get a few hours sleep. At least we got to see the Liberty Bell and were still in Madeira in time to fish the first day we had the boats booked. Read More
